This position is full-time, school year, and is currently located at the Bate Center in Iron County. This position will begin on or after November 1, 2025. Salary based on experience for placement on the pay grid. Full benefits package available. This job posting will remain open until filled.

Report To: Supervisor of Special Education
Length of Contract: Negotiated School Calendar and In-service hours per the current Master Agreement
Employment Status: Union, Exempt
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teacher’s certificate
- Meet the requirements of Special Education Rules for EC/SE Teacher
- Able to physically manage, lift and interact with students of a wide range of physical size and ability as needed.
- Driving may be necessary for this position which would require a valid driver’s license
General Description:
The role of the professional Special Education EC Instructor is to provide quality individualized instruction to pre-school children whose disability interferes with participation in appropriate activities. Essential to the provision of these services is the ability to participate with staff and parents in the development of an individualized education program.
Essential Functions:
- Provide individual program service to each assigned eligible student as determined by the IEP.
- Develop and implement a parent participation and education component.
- Provide assessment information and observations to the IEP and MET
- Teams in order to help determine eligibility and appropriate special education programming.
- Participate in assigned MET and IEP Team meetings.
- Develop and implement an individualized education plan for each assigned student.
- Deliver services to assigned students in the least restrictive environment as determined by the IEP.
- Assist parents in understanding their child’s disability, appropriate management techniques, and developmental milestones.
- Provide data requested by the Director of Special Education or designee.
- Assist in the development and scheduling of other program components, such as, ancillary services, feeding, and transportation.
- Supervise and coordinate the total activities of the teacher aide(s).
- Meet timelines for Annual, Evaluation Review, and Redetermination IEP meetings for each child enrolled in the program.
- Collaborate with ancillary as well as Head Start staff as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to student information.
- Complete all required written reports and billing in a timely fashion.
- Must have regular and reliable attendance.

- Ability to carry out other associated duties as assigned by administration
