This position will begin with the 2025-26 school year. This is a part-time 0.20 FTE position serving Dickinson County.
Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Report To: Director of Special Education
Length of Contract: Negotiated School Calendar and In-service hours per the current Master Agreement

Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology

Possess a valid license for speech and language pathology in Michigan.

Driving may be necessary for this position which would require a valid driver’s license.
General Description: Identify, assess, and provide treatment for communication function and their disorders. Evaluate overall speech, and receptive and expressive language communicative abilities. Provide early speech-language intervention as well as speech, language, and voice therapies through individual and/or group therapy.
Essential Functions:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations to determine the presence, type, and severity of communication disorders for suspected disabled students as assigned by the Director of Special Education or his/her designee.

Provide speech and language therapy to eligible students in the home or school setting as determined by the IEPC and assigned by the Director of Special Education.

In service classroom teachers in the area of speech and language techniques in the classroom.

Identify, through referral and diagnostic evaluation, speech and language impaired children.

Serve as a Multi disciplinary Evaluation Team member for assigned students.
- Participate as a member of assigned IEP Team.
- Process identified children in accordance with established procedures.

Develop and implement an individualized plan for each student.

Annually review each speech and language student’s program through the IEP process.

Regularly monitor and report speech therapy caseload as required.

Work cooperatively with parents and teachers regarding each assigned student and the therapy program.

Develop a delivery service schedule for IEP implementation.

Provide documentation and data as requested by the Director of Special
Education.

To participate in an interagency delivery service system to work with students and families where assigned.
- Must have regular and reliable attendance.
- Other similar duties as assigned.

- Ability to carry out other associated duties as assigned by administration
Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluid and tissue.
- With reimbursement, may be required to use personal vehicle to perform job related functions.
