Title: School Psychologist
Report To: Director of Special Education
Length of Contract: Negotiated School Calendar and In-service hours per the current Master Agreement beginning 2024-25

Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in School Psychology

Satisfy the requirements of Special Education Rules

Driving may be necessary for this position which would require a valid driver’s license.
General Description: Provide consultation to teachers and families, psychological counseling, student assessment, crisis intervention, and other direct services to children with learning, behavioral, and emotional problems, and their families. Provide preventive services to improve the climate for learning. Work with classroom teachers to develop a behavior management plan for an individual student or for an entire class.
Essential Functions:
- Provide accurate evaluation and diagnosis of disabled children.

Provide consultation services and interpretation of psychological test
results and observations in a meaningful manner to those persons authorized to receive consultation.

Avail themselves of the opportunity to maintain and upgrade their skills.

Evaluate and assess individual students using a variety of psychological and educational tests to determine the functional ability of individuals in terms of intelligence, educational achievement, attitude, and interest.

Effectively communicate test results in terms of written reports to schools in order to assist schools to provide a full and complete educational program for disabled children.

Provide consultive services to students, parents, administrators, teachers, and other interested agencies in a variety of subjects relating to psychological services, programs and practices.

Participate as a member of the diagnostic team and assigned IEP Team meeting, when requested.

Participate in and provide in service training when required.

Coordinate with all interested agencies and individuals in order to ensure that each person is afforded an opportunity to reach his full potential.

Complete all required written reports and billings in a timely fashion

Must have regular and reliable attendance.
- All other similar duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a positive role model for DIISD constituents demonstration how to be a responsible citizen and productive member of society.
- Adhere to DIISD Code of Ethics.
- Ability to carry out other associated duties as assigned by administration
Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluid and tissue.
- With reimbursement, may be required to use personal vehicle to perform job related functions.
